Charleston, SC, January 8, 2018 – SE Healthcare is pleased to welcome Dr. Christopher B. Rumpf as Vice President and Senior Medical Consultant.  Dr. Rumpf brings over 35 years of clinical leadership in the areas of quality, safety, and reimbursement to the team. Within his dual role at the company, Dr. Rumpf will be instrumental in helping SE’s clients take advantage of the overlap of risk management and reimbursement strategies.  He will continue the efforts to promote the Physician Empowerment Suite© (PES), a scientifically-based tool that is comprised of a combination of Patient Experience and Clinical Safety survey platforms and measurement tools that allow practices to generate credible data that reduces and mitigates risk and liability while improving the economics of physician offices and hospitals. He will also lead the promotion of Reimbursement Effectiveness Pathways, a newly developed product of the PES which allows providers to take the data collected and effectively utilize that data to build a value story and enhance the effectiveness of reimbursement negotiations.

Prior to joining SE Healthcare, Dr. Rumpf served as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Valley Health System in Winchester, Virginia where he was responsible for quality, patient satisfaction, and utilization management for six hospitals, their medical staff, and a 120-member physician group. Over the course of his career, he has held high-profile positions, having served as Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Capital Blue Cross and Medical Director at Aetna.  In addition, Dr. Rumpf conducted a full-time practice, specializing in internal medicine and geriatrics, where he also served as Managing Partner. He graduated from Muhlenberg College before attending Temple University School of Medicine, where he earned his M.D.  He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center.

“Dr. Rumpf brings extensive and unique experience to our team.  His track record of success in navigating both the payer and provider market segments will help SE’s customers maximize their advantage in both reimbursement enhancement and risk management,” said Richard Hammer, M.D., SE Healthcare Quality Consulting, Interim CEO.
